I didn't put together a full playlist for this story, but here are a couple of songs that remind me of Grady and Mateo.

 This is best song I came across for their story. Some of these lyrics are just about perfect for them.

I hadn't heard Jar of Hearts until after I had submitted I SWEAR TO YOU to my publisher. The moment I first listened to the song was very surreal. It's definitely Mateo's song as he tries to convince himself it might not be a good idea to let Grady back in, no matter how long he's waiting for just that thing. I SWEAR TO YOU could be the happy ending to this song. All of the lyrics aren't a perfect fit, but it's just too close not to share.
